Chris Campe is a German illustrator and designer who often explores gender and sexuality in her work and enjoys playing with type.
I really like the fun that she has with her illustrations, the colour used, and what tends to be a really effective informal approach.
While I love (what seems to be) her more commercial works, I stumbled across her Queeristics blog and fell quite irrevocably in love.
Campe has a great personality to her work, and her blog supports this. I enjoyed sifting through it and loved the way it was set up. Each body of work or group of illustrations is set up in a way that isolates it from the others and allows it to be seen almost as though it’s in a gallery, or viewing it like an animation as the illustrations repeat.
I think her reportage/journalistic illustrations are not only visually interesting, but skilfully drawn.
